Devon Wildlife Trust seeks to promote, enhance, create and restore habitats and species, maximising environmental gain by providing advice and support to implement sustainable land management practices.

The Working Wetlands team, through the Upstream Thinking Programme, work to promote sustainable land management practices by advising and supporting farmers and landowners. We advise on and deliver a wide range of habitat enhancement, restoration, and creation projects. These include work on culm and species-rich grasslands, diverse wetland habitats, river re-naturalisation, and natural flood management measures to benefit the wider environment.

To extend our work, we are creating opportunities for volunteers to help with hand-harvesting and collecting wildflower seeds, propagating and planting, managing a polytunnel, and establishing plug plants for planting at receptor sites. Volunteers may also support other practical tasks connected to brush-harvesting, seed processing, and seed storage.
